Great Documentary

Judge and I watched this documentary on Netflix on Black Friday. A local Nashville church started working in this shanty-town in Nashville and taught them how to be a community. Family- values infused the camp and this group of homeless stuck together even when diseaster struck their home. The number one thing I learned from watching this documentary is when the pastor explained that, “Most people see homeless as people who struggle with health issues, addiction issues or economic issues, but people with homes struggle with those things too. The difference is homeless people had isolated themselves from people before those diseaster strikes, and then they don’t have community to fall back on when hard times come.”

Community is the answer to homelessness. I loved watching this rag-tag group of people bind together and make a difference

Homeless not Helpless, “exercising their voice”

I highly recommend this film
